Toponimia: El nombre "Taxcocuayo" proviene del náhuatl. De: taxca, ser de nosotros, ser nuestro (Arenas, 1611) + cuáhuitl, árbol + yo [abundancial]: «Nuestro monte»; «Nuestro bosque».

Geo. Pol. Localidad de +-30 habitantes del municipio Hidalgotitlán. Altitud: 10 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
