Tilzapota (Atzalan)

(Del náhuatl. De tlíltik, negro + tsápotl, tliltsápotl, granadilla. Según Ramírez Lavoignet [1960]: De tlíltic, negro; +tzápilt, zapote + ta, locativo abundancial: «Donde abundan los zapotes negros»).

Geo. Pol. Localidad de +-500 habitantes del municipio Atzalan, 13 km al nor-noreste de la cabecera municipal. Altitud: 600 metros sobre el nivel del mar. (Ramírez Lavoignet, 1960).

Gentilicio: tilzapotano, a.
