Tiocuautla (Altotonga)

(Del nahuátl: teotl, dios; cuautla, bosque. Según Ramírez Lavoignet [1960]: Bosque divino. O también: téotl, dios; cuáhuitl, árbol; tla, locativo abundancial. Lugar donde abundan los árboles de dios, o divinos).

Geo. Pol. Localidad de +-530 habitantes del municipio Altotonga, 15 km al este de la cabecera municipal. Altitud: 1,100 metros sobre el nivel del mar. 

Gentilicio: tiocuauteco, a (nahuatlismo).
